Eugene Bush III, known professionally as E-Trè, is an American producer, director, cinematographer, and editor based in Chicago, Illinois. He is the founder and chief executive officer of E-Tre Productions, Inc., a full-service video production company operating out of Chicago and Atlanta.[1][2] His work spans music videos, branded content, documentaries, comedy specials, and live-event films for clients including Hennessy, Heineken, and Entertainment One (eOne).[1]
Bush has produced and directed content for artists and entertainers including Grammy Award–winning poet J. Ivy, singer-songwriter Jill Scott, and Broadway performer Chester Gregory, and his company produced the stand-up comedy special Just Nesh: Self Served, distributed on Amazon Prime Video.[4] His productions have earned a 2024 Telly Award for The Perfect Podcast, and E-Tre Productions was a Top-25 finalist in the 2024 Doritos Commercial Challenge.[2]
Bush was raised in Chicago, Illinois, where he performed in theater throughout high school. He credits his high school theater director, Vergil Smith, with teaching him the principle of "delayed gratification," a lesson he has cited as foundational to his career.[1]
After being denied admission to DePaul University's acting program, Bush was accepted into the university's general school and — on the advice of his former theater director — switched his major to computer science, earning a Bachelor of Science degree.[1]
Following graduation, Bush worked for approximately fifteen years in information technology and finance while continuing to perform in theater productions on evenings and weekends.[1]
Bush founded E-Tre Productions in early 2010 with a stated mission of developing quality entertainment with a positive undertone.[2] The company's origins trace to a Christian sitcom Bush created for his local church. After one of his church sketches went viral, a gospel recording artist offered him $5,000 to direct a music video; the finished video aired on BET and generated a steady stream of production inquiries that allowed Bush to transition into video production full-time.[1]
Bush built the company's primary revenue on live-event recap films for major brands, and has been flown across the United States to cover celebrity red-carpet events, product launches, and brand activations for clients including Hennessy, Heineken, and eOne.[1] His clientele has grown to include Grammy Award–winning poet and author J. Ivy, for whom he provided post-production services on the streaming release of Catching Dreams; two-time Grammy Award–winning vocalist Tarrey Torae, an early collaborator whose work connected Bush to many of the artists he would later film; neo-soul singer-songwriter Jill Scott, for whom Bush produced social media content; and Broadway performer Chester Gregory, whose long-form interview series The Root of It Bush edits for television broadcast.[2]
Bush produced the thriller Mediator (2021), directed by Cas Sigers-Beedles, which won Best Thriller at the Toronto Women Film Festival and a festival award in Montreal before its streaming release on Tubi; the film was subsequently marketed to international buyers at MIPCOM in Cannes.[9][7]
His work has also been featured by social media entertainers including comedian Kountry Wayne.[2] In 2025, E-Tre Productions produced Just Nesh: Self Served, a stand-up comedy special starring Chicago comedian Just Nesh, released on Amazon Prime Video.[4] The special drew coverage from comedy outlet We Own The Laughs[5] and from the nationally syndicated radio show The Morning Hustle, which named Just Nesh its "Hustler of the Week" in connection with the release.[6] In 2024, Bush attended the 66th Annual Grammy Awards in Los Angeles.
For seven years, Bush produced and ran Greenlit ATL, a monthly networking event for film and television professionals and the longest-running event of its kind in Atlanta.[10] The gathering connected actors, directors, producers, writers, and content creators with the city's entertainment industry. When the COVID-19 pandemic halted in-person production, Bush transitioned Greenlit to a digital showcase format so that artists could keep creating and presenting their work.
E-Tre Productions, Inc. is a full-service video production company based in Chicago, Illinois, with operations in Atlanta, Georgia. The company handles concept development, writing, shooting, high-end editing, and distribution across music videos, branded content, multi-camera podcast visuals, docuseries, short films, comedy specials, and social media campaigns.[2][3]
The company also operates a digital course and mentoring program teaching video content production.[2]
